4680 lithium cell — Ø46 × 80 mm cylindrical cell
The 4680 (Ø46 × 80 mm) is the next-generation large-format cylindrical cell. Its much larger can stores several times the energy of a 21700, which dramatically reduces cell count, wiring and assembly complexity at the pack level. We offer it in NCM and LiFePO4 chemistry, with rated capacities from roughly 7500 mAh to 15,000 mAh.
NCM or LiFePO4?
Choose NCM (prefix INR) for the highest energy density and the lowest weight per kWh; choose LiFePO4 (prefix IFR) for the longest cycle life and the best thermal stability. The suffix marks the cell type (D high-power, E energy-storage). Full specs — weight, internal resistance, charge/discharge rates and cycle life — are in the table above and the datasheet.
Typical applications
The 4680’s high energy per cell suits energy-storage systems and large light-electric-vehicle packs where reducing cell count lowers cost. For more established large formats, compare it with the 32750 and 26750.
