Lithium Cells for Power Banks & Portable Power Stations

High-density 21700 and 18650 cells for power banks, USB-C PD chargers and portable power stations.

Lithium cells for power banks & portable power stations

Power banks, USB-C PD chargers and portable power stations all live and die by energy per gram and per cubic centimetre β€” the more capacity you fit into the shell, the more competitive the product. They also need cells that survive hundreds of charge cycles and discharge fast enough to feed high-wattage fast charging without sagging. Our 21700 and 18650 cells are built for exactly this balance of density, cycle life and rate.

For pocket power banks and consumer chargers, the JOINSUN-built 21700 C series (3C digital-grade) cells β€” 40C, 45C, 48C, 50C β€” are the natural fit: high volumetric capacity, ~4C discharge headroom for fast-charge output, and long, stable cycling. For portable power stations and larger units, the 50D (5000 mAh high-capacity power type) or the storage-oriented E series deliver the runtime and cycle endurance a 200–2000 Wh station needs. Compact and slim designs can still use 18650 where every millimetre counts.

What matters for power banks & portable stations

  • Energy density: higher Wh per cell means a smaller, lighter product at the same rated capacity β€” a direct selling point.
  • Cycle life: consumers expect years of use; rated cycle life (e.g. β‰₯800 cycles @ 0.5C/1C, 80% DoD for 21700-50E) protects the brand.
  • Cell-to-cell consistency: matched capacity and internal resistance keep multi-series / multi-parallel packs balanced over their life.
  • Rate matched to fast charging: discharge C-rate must comfortably exceed the PD/AC inverter output so voltage stays stable under peak load.
  • Protection & safety: stable chemistry, clean QC and full documentation for transport and certification.

21700 β€” C (digital) cells for power banks, 50D for high-capacity stations, and E (storage) for cycle-heavy units β€” plus 18650 for compact builds. Choosing a format? See 18650 vs 21700.
